Hello.. and I am back after having a really amazing, long vacation. It went by way too fast. The weeks flew by. Can we go back in time please? π
I spent a whole week in Singapore at the beginning of August and I fell in love with the place. It was my first time visiting Singapore and I couldn’t be happier I can tick it off from my bucket list. It’s surreal. Everything is so organized, clean, efficient and just out of this world. I spent a lot of time looking through all these shopping malls on the Orchard Road and obviously I couldn’t resist some purchases, but I am getting much better at not getting too crazy. ( Or at least I try really hard π ) some times are more successful than others. The shopping mall I liked the most is without a doubt the Ion Orchard mall. It’s amazing.
Places To See
We did quite a lot of sightseeing. On our first day we went to the Gardens By The Bay to see the light show in the evening. Then in the nextΒ days we walked around in China Town, peeked into Arab Street and of course went to the Raffles Hotel and its famous Long Bar.Β We sipped on the world famous Singapore Sling, which let me tell you are so delicious. Inside the Long Bar, weΒ littered the floor with peanut shells a little bit. But that’s what the bar is famous for – you’re allowed to litter in it, the only place in Singapore.
We also walked in Duxton Hill area, which is full of cute houses that reminded me of Cuba for some reason. π It’s filled with many different bars and restaurants. We went there for a drink in a small rooftop bar, called The Screening Room, which was really cool and I had the best Litchi martini. π π
Another day later in the week, we made it back to the Gardens By The Bay and walked on the Skywalk that connects all the artificial trees and offers a beautiful view of the Marina Bay area. We also visited the Cloud Forest, which was incredible. I loved it so much. I felt like we were in Jurassic Park and dinosaurs are going to start running from the greenery. Also, one night, we went to the 1-Altitude sky bar at the top of the tallest building in Singapore – One Raffles Place.
I really hope you’ll enjoy my photos and get a feel of Singapore’s vibe if you haven’t been yet. You have to go btw! π
Stay tuned for my BALI diary coming soon! :)))
